Reading time: 3 minutes

For people with sensitive skin, sun protection is particularly important, but not always easy. The skin can react more quickly to sunlight, heat or certain ingredients in skincare products. As a result, many people look for sun cream for sensitive skin or a suitable sunscreen for sensitive skin. In this article, you can read why sensitive skin needs extra protection and how you can better protect your skin against UV radiation.

Why sensitive skin needs extra protection

Sensitive skin can react more quickly to sunlight and other external stimuli. This can include redness, a tight feeling, itching or irritation. Even if your skin normally feels calm, exposure to the sun can make it temporarily more sensitive.

UV radiation is present all year round, even on cloudy days. This means your skin is exposed to the sun not only in summer, but also during everyday activities such as walking, cycling, shopping or gardening. Precisely because these moments often seem harmless, protection is more easily forgotten.

What should you look for in sunscreen for sensitive skin?

When choosing sunscreen for sensitive skin, many people look primarily for a product that spreads easily and doesn’t put unnecessary strain on the skin. Because everyone’s skin reacts differently, what works well varies from person to person. What feels pleasant for one person may be less suitable for another.

It helps to pay attention to how your skin reacts after use and to choose a product that suits your skin type. It is also important to apply sunscreen generously and to reapply it regularly, especially if you are outdoors for a long time or are sweating.

Why applying sunscreen alone isn’t always enough

Sunscreen provides a good base, but in practice, people often forget to reapply it. Even during a busy day outdoors, a bike ride or an afternoon in the garden, you don’t always remember to reapply protection in good time.

For people with sensitive skin, it can be reassuring not to rely solely on sun cream, but to use multiple methods of protection.

Extra protection with UV-protective clothing

Combining sun protection with clothing is a great way to complement your sunscreen. With UV-STOP Protection Wash, you can make ordinary clothing UV-protective up to UPF 50+. This gives your clothes an extra layer of protection against UV rays.

This can be particularly beneficial for people with sensitive skin, as covered skin receives extra protection without the need to constantly reapply sunscreen. Your favourite T-shirt, blouse or work shirt thus becomes a smart addition to your daily sun protection.

Comfort during everyday outdoor activities

Whether you’re gardening, going for a walk, sitting on a terrace or out cycling, even brief moments spent outdoors expose you to UV rays. That’s why it’s good to have sun protection close at hand throughout the day.

By combining sunscreen with UV-protective clothing, you create extra protection during daily activities in the sun. This helps you protect your skin better, whilst continuing to enjoy being outdoors in comfort.

Caring for sensitive skin in the sun

Sensitive skin often requires a little extra care. By choosing suitable sun protection and additional protection through clothing, you reduce the risk of discomfort caused by the sun and UV radiation. With UV-STOP Protection Wash, you can make your clothing UV-resistant up to UPF 50+, giving your skin extra protection. This means you can go outside with peace of mind, whilst supporting your skin at times when protection is essential.

On the advice of my family doctor

Due to an accident I had several burns on my body and I had been advised by my doctor to avoid the uv rays as much as possible. A colleague pointed me to the protection wash and indeed I was considerably less affected by the sun.

Playing outside again without irritation

Our youngest daughter is covered in rashes at the slightest hint of sunshine. Putting sunscreen all over her was the only solution we thought. Until we heard about UV-STOP. However, we couldn’t imagine that it would work and when we bought it we thought, don’t tell anyone because they will all laugh at us if it turns out that it doesn’t work. After the first beautiful days, we are completely converted. Great our girl just played outside with the others and she is not bothered by anything. If only we had known sooner. People believe me it really works.
